I spent the last week of my life floating down the Main Salmon River. It was full of towering mountains, crisp pine trees, and soft sunsets. For a week, I was constantly under the ceiling of the sky.

One of the best parts of the trip was leaving my phone in our car. Not having the constant stimulation of a screen allowed me to really see the things around me. I talked to friends for hours while we perched on rafts. I finished a book and started another one. I sat by a creek and sketched the wonderful people around me. I fell asleep under pinpoints of light.

Times like this always leave me in awe of God’s creation. His color combinations are perfect. He sketches angles with a master’s hand. All of nature’s randomness comes together to create cohesive order. Nature is His art.
